This home was a log kit home in great need of an update. The home is on 5 acres, but built into a corner of the lot which made it difficult to add any square footage to the East. The goal was to capitalize on the amazing views of the Roaring Fork Valley, while updating the efficiency of the home and adding a bedroom.

With a log home, the corners of the home hold significant structural integrity. The entire Southern wall of the home was removed to capture the view. It was a difficult trick to keep the existing home standing, while adding onto it. The finished result is a home that blends a rustic log look and feel with an current mountain vibe.
